I came across this rather depressing piece of factoid about Seattle:

Seattle ranks fourth out of all the large cities in the nation for the number of cloudy days, at 227 per year. Also, that doesn't necessarily mean that the other five and half months of the year are sunny -- Seattle averages about 57 days annually of sunny to mostly-sunny days.

- milestones -

I "celebrated" a full year of sobriety today. I think this is the longest I've gone without alcohol since I was... dunno... 13 years old? For this special occation, here are my Top Ten Alcoholic Moments (from the home office of Seattle, WA):

10. Getting kicked out of the Bomber (1994): after the 1B finals and one too many Kurt Cobains (vodka mixed with Sprite).

9. Dora's Hallowe'en Party (1999): my first day in Seattle in style.

8. Frito's Prez Day Party (2001): a.k.a. "Crouching Hansol, Hidden Dragon" incident.

7. LG Semicon (1995): what a way to make a first impression. Note to self: drinking with co-workers is a *bad* idea.

6. Day & Night (1997): 2 bottles of Crown Royal don't do nobody good. Rich is a freakin' psycho, I tell ya.

5. Jake's (2001): I got friendly with a big scary dog, and I woke up with my keys, wallet and watch in a garbage can.

4. Frosh keg party (1994): 15 beers in 30 minutes = not good.

3. A bottle of J&B (2000): my first (and hopefully, last) heartbreak drinking binge.

2. Ambulance/OD incident (1999): probably the scariest moment of my life. It's probably a good thing that I don't remember any of it.

1. The cabbie incident (1996): a classic! Man, I so don't miss Ottawa...
