Why I love the internet so much: BugsMusic.co.kr.

Wednesday, January 30, 2002

I was watching Politically Incorrect last night when I realized how much I miss OTR (and TSN in general). As annoying as he can be sometimes, Michael Landsberg is such a great host. He understands that people tune in to hear what the *guests* have to say, and is so good at controlling the flow of the show. He'd give a topic a good kick start and lets the panel go to work. Bill Maher, on the other hand, is too busy hammering away *his* point of view to let his guests speak. They usually don't have much intelligent to say anyways, but that's besides the point. When the guests do get to say something interesting, they usually just end up interrupting one another since Maher doesn't do his job as the moderator (or is too busy interrupting them himself, or with commercial breaks).

I started learning Longing/Love last night, only to realize my fingers aren't quite long enough to play some parts. Doh! Oh well, I'll figure something out.

Oh yeah, Happy Birthday Leonard! See, I didn't forget -- Outlook just didn't send me an alert. No, really. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

This week's signs of the Apocalypse:

  1. I went clubbin'. Yeah, you heard me right.
  2. I "voluntarily" made it to the dance floor.
...and no alcohol, drugs or physical threats were ever involved.
  3. I actually had a great time. I still can't feel my legs...

Carrie: Do you believe in love at first sight?
Mr. Big: Well, I believe in *lust* at first sight.

Almost forgot that today's Dad's Birthday. He would've been 59 today.

Happy Birthday Mom!

Today is also the 12th anniversary of our big move to Canada. 12 years! I know it sounds cliché, but it really does feel like it was just yesterday. It's probably one of the best things that has ever happened to me. I can't imagine what my life would've been like had I stayed in Korea. Ugh, I don't even wanna think about that.

Did you know that at Jerry Falwell's school, students are not allowed see *any* movies? Not only that, they have faculty members patrol movie theaters and their parking lots to bust any students who try to sneak into movies. I believe the school is called "Liberty University" -- ironic, isn't it?

Q: What do these books have in common?

A: These are the books that I never managed to finish last year. Yeah, I've gotten into this really bad habit of starting a book, and then forgetting about it half way through. Hopefully, it won't happen with the book I'm currently reading (On a Beam of Light, a sequel to K-PAX) -- it seems like a easy read (albeit trite/cliché) so far.

Q: What do these movies have in common?

A: These are (some of the) high-profile and/or main-stream Hollywood movies in the past couple of years that featured Timothy Spall, one of my favorite actors. I wonder if Ray Winstone (another favorite actor of mine) will ever be able to reach wider audiences (i.e. USA) the way Spall has. All he needs is one movie -- just look at what In the Bedroom has done for Tom Wilkinson. It'd also be interesting to see if Black Hawk Down can do the same for Eric Bana, whose brilliant performance in Chopper ranks #2 on my best actor of 2001 list (tied with Ray Winstone in Sexy Beast). Who's #1? Tom Wilkinson in In the Bedroom, of course.

Ok, I'm absolutely fed up with Pitas dying on me every fucking time I try to do *anything*, so I'm gonna take a little break from bloggin' until they upgrade their server. In the meantime, check out the X-Mas/Christmas pictures.

Happy New Year! Actually, I don't really care. To be honest, it kinda annoys me how time is flying by so fast. Another year gone, and not much has changed -- that's not a very good feeling. Oh well, here are my new year's resolutions/goals:

  • Alcohol is bad. One exception: white wine for cooking.
  • Cigarettes are bad. Give away all the leftover cigs to the homeless.
  • Learn Colors/Dance and the 2nd half of Deux Polonaise.
  • Find a new job.
  • Find a new apartment.
  • Start exercising.
  • Get a six-pack by the end of the year, hopefully without the help of lipo and/or laser-etching. (Ok, so this is never going to happen -- I'll settle for a less flabby stomach.)
  • See a dentist.
  • *Really* look into going back to school.
  • Go somewhere on a plane. It'll probably be Toronto.
  • Call Mom at least once a month.
  • No more bloggin' at work.
  • Try becoming a vegan: 1) no red meat in Jan. 2) no white meat in Feb. 3) vegitarian in March. 4) vegan in April. 5) Back to "normal" in May. Why, you ask? Why not? I'm just bored.
  • Go blonde one last time.
  • Don't freak out about getting old.
