Ok, enough with bitter, whiny postings. Here is something fun for a change.

- epiphany, part deux -
I'm far too fucking old to be going to house parties. Far too fucking old and bitter.
In my defense, I thought it was gonna be a quieter, "classier" affair, considering it was being thrown by a couple of doctors at their swanky loft. I certainly didn't expect a 19-year-old, HIV-positive hooker (and the likes) to be present. Ugh.

From White Oleander:
Ingrid: Don't do it again, Astrid.
Astrid: Do what again?
Ingrid: Attach yourself to anyone who shows you the least bit of attention because you're lonely.

Is "drug holiday":
a) a break from taking certain substances (prescription medication or illicit drugs)
or
b) a vacation whose main purpose is to indulge in the said substances?

My new motto, courtesy of Samantha from Sex and the City: "Have fun. Just don't have amnesia." Yeah, selective memory is a dangerous thing. Just remember it didn't work out for a reason. Well, many reasons, really.

The mandatory grieving period officially ends today, which also happens to be the first day at my "new" job. Things will be different from now on. No, really.

It just occurred to me that in the Korean Language, there is almost no need for the so-called "pronoun game" since the 3rd person subject needs not be (and usually isn't) gender specific, or can be omitted altogether. How convenient.

So far, not at all impressed with this year's crop of Korean films at the SIFF. It seems like most of them are turning into Asian versions of French movies: pretentious, disjointed, rambling, plotless (but filled with much gratuitous sex), and painfully boring. And the ones that don't fit this description are slapstick comedies which, in my opinion, have no business taking up space in the festival circuit in the first place. This is especially disappointing coming on the heals of a number of stellar imports that resurrected my faith in Korean Cinema, such as JSA, Friend and Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance.
